STARTING SUNDAY, JULY 6 going through August 31 - WE HAVE A NEW SUMMER SCHEDULE: 9:00am Adult Education Hour; 10:00am Worship Service with Holy Communion.
BACKPACK BUDDIES – Cindy Bloomingdale is the new CHS Ministry Coordinator for Backpack Buddies. She will be coordinating the CHS Outreach to the underserved children of Ball's Bluff Elementary School. Church of the Holy Spirit is in partnership with Balls Bluff Elementary School, Loudoun County Public Schools - Office of Outreach Programs - Backpack Coalition.
During the 2013-2014 school year over 50 children were helped and the coming school year it is expected to increase. Many students rely on school meals for breakfast and lunch. It is difficult during weekends and extended breaks for families to provide adequate nutrition for each person in the home. Those children who qualify carry food home in a backpack on Fridays and return it to the school on the following Monday so it can be refilled for the next Friday.
If you would like to help with this vital CHS ministry please contact Cindy at firstname.lastname@example.org. Get in touch with Cindy to find out more about Backpack Buddies and how you can be of help. Cindy would love to hear from you. Backpack Buddies needs volunteers to fill backpacks, donate food, and/or solicit food and funds.
CONVOY OF HOPE - Saturday, September 13. Convoy of Hope Leesburg is returning this fall on Saturday, September 13th. Last year, over 650 volunteers from 46 churches and organizations served more than 3,000 people that came to the Community Outreach at the Shenandoah Building parking lot in Leesburg. Over 500 kids and teens were given clothing who are homeless or experiencing home insecurity issues. Walgreens administered 200 flu shots, 550 family portraits were taken, and 165 people received haircuts. Thousands of pounds of food were given to attendees. CHS participated in the prayer tent and six people prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Mark your calendar and plan to participate. This is a great family event outreach.
